Caught 9 brown bullheads, 5 bluegills and a carp this evening in a 94 degree Central New Jersey Park lake with corn bait on a #8 gold hook and 4 lb test line during an algae bloom and thunderstorm.

Bluegills on corn? That is unusual for sure. They must have been fairly big. I'm surprised you didn't catch any snapping turtles. When I chum for carp with corn, invariably a turtle or two shows up. They can be stubborn as a mule and often dig their back flippers into the mud and won't budge.
One comment about the bullheads.......There are very few ponds in NJ that DON'T have them. There is something about catfish that turns lots of fishermen off when it comes to fishing for them. If the trout fishermen who take trout home for dinner ever found out about frying up a bunch of catfish, they could extend their fishing throughout the year and bring home some good eats.

Id catch a few on lures when i went for pumpkinseeds at a pond in edgemont. I hear theyre a great forage for bass too. Most underrated panfish?

Very nice! I've seen sunnies go after the corn too. Were you fishing with any weight at all for the bullheads?

No weight. Just 2 or 3 kernels of corn. Returned the next evening and caught 10 bullheads, 10 bluegills, 2 pumpkinseed sunfish and a black crappie. The rain lowered the water temp and the fish turned on.
