Gonna try to hit the valley next few days. Any info on either ramp, or launching.
Spoke with a guy at Carnegie the other day he said it was crazy low and very tuff to launch. He had a new explorer , so It May have been a bit harder launching than with my truck. Going for bass not the trout. Just don’t want to do the drive if I can’t really get the boat in. Thanks

I know negative threads are a downer but reality shouldn't be lost in all this. The US just hit 60,000 plus cases in a single day yesterday. 50% were from 4 states. Wait until New York kicks in which will cause mayhem in NY along with accompanying states NJ and CT. Give it to mid August and daily cases will be over 100,000 and rising based on the contagion rate of this virus. In other words BOHICA.

States are running out of money. Revenue streams have disappeared. With furloughed employees comes greater risk of being sued due to inadequate staffing, whether they ever had a presence or not to begin with. The only money states are really receiving right now are taxes on liquor sales, cigarettes and gasoline which is also down. Lottery funds have dropped, income taxes are virtually non existent for both Corporate and personal. Couple that with unprecedented levels of unemployment payouts (albeit some funded federally) and states are in a bloody mess. We're at the crossroads with this virus. Two to three weeks after the July 4th mardi gras and daily cases should be in the 80,000 to 90,000 daily range. Hope I'm wrong but afraid this is not going to be pretty.

acabtp does have a good point, I didnt even know these boat ramps and parking lots had to be staffed to begin with. I completely understand for those other areas that require staff, like the ranges. But I wished they found a way to leave these parking lots and ramps open. The more fishing spots open in NJ the happier I am.

Comes down to one issue..."liability". If they can't staff them, the state isn't going to open itself up to the exposure if frivolous lawsuits.

WMA ranges are not staffed. CO might stop by to check for licenses from time to time, but there's usually nobody there. and even that is pretty rare (at least in NNJ)... i've only seen a CO at a WMA range once, ever.

i could understand liability being an issue if there was no enforcement available, but it doesn't appear they are furloughing state troopers or COs, so I don't see how this makes any sense! i really feel like the DFW, Murphy, or the CWA owes NJ residents a better explanation why places with no staff are closed "due to state-mandated employee furloughs".

Saw RVTA had to cancel their tourney again, they posted a pic on FB of the barricades already up at RVR. Bummer for those guys. Does seem odd to close a usually unmanned ramp.

Can you still launch at Round Valley if you have an inflatable that you can carry to the water instead of using a ramp?

From what I saw, the parking lot is barricaded off so you wouldn't even be able to park legally.

Thanks. They really want us to stay home I guess. Myself, I can find things to do around the house but my kids are bored to death. Fishing and boating are pretty much the main attractions these days.

plenty of other places open, this isnt a public park shutdown like back in april, but just most of the WMAs.

I know but all those people from the closed WMAs will now go to the available open parks. I have to wake the kids up earlier and earlier these days to avoid LOT FULL signs at the local boating places.

Forces us to fish in lesser-known spots.

Like the guy I saw this AM, when I came out of the Delaware River and up on to the old railroad bed trail to walk back to my car. He was walking up river too, with his dog, a paddle and backpack with fishing rods and a collapsed inflatable.

Don’t count on that!
I fish mostly 100 acre or less lakes.
Back I April I had to wait to pull boat . First time ever ppl stacked at this “one at a time “ launch.
They WILL find them.

The more you test the more cases will incur. The testing being used only identifies COVID , not the specific strain (ie: COVID 19). In essence the common cold and any of the various non-lethal COVID strains are being thrown in with the numbers. We are getting played, this is being politicized...do not be carp a and swallow the hook, line & sinker. They want us scared and complicit. Vote like your rights depend on it because they do.

Not sure where you get this, but what you are saying is absolutely nonsense. COVID19 has very different DNA segments compared with other COVID that cause common cold (along with similar segments). The test kit were designed to be specific to COVID19.
OMG, do you really think all the PhDs don't know what they are doing? We all want to get out of this, but misinformation won't help.

The latest BS that some people believe:

The government created the virus and purposely released it. The vaccine the government is now developing contains microchips. The big, bad government will be able to track your every move and, of course, much worse!
