Insane outing on the river tonight.

Was all peace and quiet until I get t-boned by this pike while reeling in another pike.

Hilariously was able to scoop them both up in my net. Took video via phone:

Moments later i was welcomed by a 30 inch pike slamming my jig nearly at my feet, took a bit to land on 6lb mono (wire leader)

Not a good place if you're a small pike or anything else these days. There's parts of the Passaic absolutely loaded with bait, couldn't believe how much in certain areas. Good too see a river system struggling years ago loaded with life today.

Great video. Did the little guy swim off? If you catch a jointed pike in a month or two you'll know he made it!

I think i saw him jump twice in the area within 15 minutes, you know kind of like how fish jump to shake lures off? Maybe a correlation when a fish also gets bit nearly in half, that they instinctly jump around.
i hope to catch him again now, wish the lil guy is ok. And cool to see what a pike bite looks like in result next time I see a fish with the similar pattern.
