Ramapo Report 5/22

Decided to see if any new trout were dropped in my spot in Mahwah. Got to the river around 430, flows are down. Picked up 4 in 3 hours so I think my answer was no on new fish. Had to work for em. 2 on worms, 1 spinner, 1 power bait. Two surprises today, 1) I caught the same nice 18" bow I landed about 3 weeks ago in the same spot as last time. :D 2) I caught a little brookie, first one I ever caught there in many years, cool to see.

Time to try some new spots next week after we get some rain tomorrow.

A native Brook trout in the Ramapo is a rarity. Great catch BT.

I'm surprised you didn't find more fish after last weeks stocking.

I didn't fish the Ramapo, but other north Jersey rivers I fished were loaded. Hopefully they don't go belly up too fast with high temps coming this week.
