No way they enforce this one.

“ April 3, 2020
Consistent with Governor Murphy's orders that all New Jerseyans practice social distancing in order to limit the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), anglers must fish alone or with immediate family members and cannot fish in groups of any size (no matter how small), either on land or by boat. A minimum six-foot social distance between anglers must be maintained at all times. To disperse the fish and to help maintain social distancing among anglers, trout were released early and the NJ Fish and Game Council opened trout stocked waters for catch and release only for trout, from April 1 through April 10. Season, size, and creel limits for all other species apply, as well as any gear restrictions.

Anglers MUST NOT congregate in parking areas, boat ramps or at popular fishing locations. Conservation Police Officers, New Jersey State Park Police, and DEP staff are actively monitoring our parks and natural areas to ensure that individuals enjoying our natural resources are maintaining social distance. Any groups encountered will be instructed to disperse to maintain social distance, and if they do not comply, tickets will be issued by law enforcement.”

Yeah, Washington state with far more space and far less people has banned outdoor activities including fishing.

We are lucky and should respect the privilege while we still have it.

How in the hell can they tell you you can not take one friend. I can understand not wanting four guys in boat but the boat owner and one guest they can not stop. Whats next show your birth certificate. This whole situation is being blown out of proportion.

How do you prove the people on your boat are “immediate” family members?

Now they encourage you fishing/boating alone? Doesn’t that go against every safety rule we were ever taught?

I’m happy to be allowed out of the house and still be working full time. We gotta be careful and preserve the future for ourselves and our young ones. It’s a tough world to live in right now. Patience my friends, patience. This thing can carry well into the summer unfortunately. Be safe! We have to get over this bump in the road! TIGHT LINEZ!!!:D

In a boat that is 16' you can have two people in it and still be 6' apart. We have to do our part to help defeat this dreadful virus from spreading, if they see too many people not complying with the rules then we will be restricted from fishing for safety reasons.. Please try to do your best to be within the guidelines stay safe and tight lines to all.

I am sorry to say but if what i have witnessed yesterday any indication of things to come i am seeing this going downhill really fast.

Was out in bay. Ramp waiting times between 30 min and an hour if you can find the one thats open. Stopped counting after 150 boats all concentrated in one area. It was hard to maintain distance between boats, i dont know how they can do it inside the damn things. Most boats had up to 3 ppl max on them but there were a good proportion of boats with 4, 5 and 6 ppls out.

On a bright side of the things, ppl at ramps were maintaining social distancing and more and less were courteous and respectful enough toward others.

And yes bite was really good.
