The run has started early. They are in pretty thick in the back of the bay. Just about half shorts and half keeps up to 38". I picked them up trolling and jigging and the action was pretty consistent thru the tide change. The occasional sun and warm breeze out of the SW felt great.

My son and I hit a back bay spot yesterday and combined to beach 8 schoolies and missed an equal number of bites all within a 60 minute span. When the wind shifted direction and the sun came out the bite shut off for us.

OK I've removed everything, opinions or other wise related to the virus in this thread...

For those of you wondering why I did this, it's for a variety or reasons:
- This is an emotionally charged subject and elicits emotionally charged responses like you saw here.
- If you're looking to offer opinions on what others should or should not be doing you can go do that on social media, not here for the reason above...
- This should not be a site you come to and look for or post general information about the virus, factual, opinions or otherwise. That information should come from official sources.


Lastly and more importantly, the purpose of this site is to share fishing information with the fishing community and quite frankly, this where I and others come to take a break from all other stuff going on. Additionally,
I want to be careful that we don't spread misinformation and now more than ever, let our personal emotions and opinions divide us...

How about back to stripers:

Anything out front yet, or is it still best to stay in the river? I don't see anyone out, but I can't understand how it would be offensive to anyone's health risk for me to get out there -- I'm less risky to others than if I went to the market and passed them in the aisles or checkout line. Nightcrawlers from the garden are probably the best I'll come up with, but at least there is no pressure on the fish so maybe they'll be hungry.

My marina says they're operational, so if I can get the boat ready I'm going to give my family 2 gifts: free fresh fish, and several hours with me and the rescue dog out of the house.

I think your best shot would be to fish the back bays. I would try plugs or plastics over nightcrawlers, . I have caught many Flounder on garden worms but never tried them for Bass they wash out fast and just aren't a saltwater bait in my mind., but you never know. Maybe the Gulp worms would work? You can get Clams at the Supermarket.
