Hellloooo freshwater forum! Been fishing some private and public lakes/ponds locally in the afternoon (Monmouth and Ocean County) after remotely teaching my kids and working with my daughter while we're doing the home school thing. Fishing has been good, some lakes obviously better than others. We've had about 95% crappie with some pickerel and jumbo bluegills mixed in. At times it's a fish on literally every cast. Between my daughter and I we're averaging 15-20 fish per afternoon all week long. All on a jig and bobber. Fun stuff until the stripers and bluefish get going.

Nothing beats spending time fishing with your children and catching good size fish is a bonus, those crappie are good for the table. great report

Thanks guys. We're still picking them pretty good, same approach with jig and bobber, when the weather is favorable. Yesterday I had a slime dart that was about 20" bite through my mono as I was landing it. Haven't caught one that big in 20 + years!
