Nick brought Hookmanski and I to fish for some pike. Today was a fair day with mostly clouds but no harsh winds.
Nick broke the ice with a hard-fighting pickerel that fooled us for a pike.
Nothing else until we came to one spot and started nailing healthy yellow perch, with two pike and some more chains mixed in.
Pike taped to 25 in, other one couldnt get a good photo before it took off, but it was a few inches shorter. It had beautiful colors on it tho.
We practically fished the spot out leaving with just a few more perch to close it. Then no other action until we hit the next hole that Nick planned to hold fish.
Found more chains and perch, but no pike. Unfortunately pressed for time so potentially left some hungry fish behind.
Most fish came off of a 1/8oz jig, 3 inch white+green shad bait.
Plenty of fish for a three-man team.
Successful day, although hookmanski wasnt able to grab his first pike; and was instead teased by catching the most chain pickerel and perch. He has been titled "Perch Master" in result, so there's that.
No doubt by spring theres gonna be plenty of pike to go around.
Hookmanski should be posting some more pictures ITT
