Got tired of the ice taking too long to form so squatch and I took the tin can and smashed through the ice saturday! The freezing temps were annoying, but the fishing was actually pretty good for a short bite window and then pretty much shut down about 2 hours before the storm front moved in. we nabbed a few big pickerel and a nice smallie. #notabinsky :D haha

and just to answer any questions...no, i don't know wtf is wrong with us and, yes, it was worth it!!!!!

Lmao!! That's how you gotta do it! And hell yeah, I'd say it's worth it, & you were able to bag a couple. Beautiful smallie too!!

guys the ice is on its way.. how much i do not know, be patient.. beating the hell out of the unsinkable tin can for a slime dart and a nice smallie is unnecessary. it just shows how tough you guys are to withstand those elements and still catch fish well done:cool:

The lengths we go to to scratch the itch! Psychiatrist appointments are scheduled for Friday.

The Tin Can proves it is unsinkable yet again!

That's what I call working for your fish, nice job.
I remember when I did that sort of thing back in the 80's and 90's, the main lake would be open but we had to go through 40 to 50 yds. of ice to get out to it. One time there was an area of 4 to 6" of ice, at the north end of the lake that came off shore about 100 yds. with about eight or ten guys fishing on it as close as 25 yds. to open water. I was in my boat casting towards the edge of the ice in 30 fow and also trolling along the edge since the trout would set-up there. To my way of thinking these guys were really pushing their luck and I had to be careful not to make too much of a wake coming or going.

Should have taken the day off and gone to the fisheries meeting, could have signed autographs for the crowd :D
