Had some free time yesterday so I bundled up and hit a few spots on the river. Covered some decent ground and still only found 2 fish, was really hitting great pockets and seams so was surprised. I'll definitely take it over a skunk though! 1st fish was a small pike but had a little belly on it. That was it for an hour of hopping around then was able to land a small bass that was pretty feisty for his size. Been using fluoro leaders with the cold temps so my slow & suspending lures aren't sinking as much. Been working well!

Glad you were rewarded for the hard work. My son and I are going to try the river tomorrow

That little pike is going to be a monster if it keeps up its eating habits. Nice fish!

good fish on a cold day. looks like we are going to have to hit rivers and lakes for now with no ice around:mad::mad::mad::mad: hopefully we get some cold weather to lock things up. this taking my canoe out on the cong with the cold wind is testing my temper a bit.
