So, I shucked some clams today, about 2 dozen. Which adds to my life time total of 10 plus thousand. Today I find sand dollars the size of a half dollar in most of them. In all my days I have never ever seen them in clams. Are these clams coming from the southern fleet ? Is it due to the lack of clams here ? Is it because the sand dredging is destroying all the clam beds ? Looking forward to your comments and insight.thanks

You can thank all the beach replenishment for that, wonder why all the bass hang off the beaches now.

You got that right Andy. Bass on the beach are contingent to the presence of baitfish now. When we had clams here you could count on the Bass coming in after a Northeast storm. Now all I catch are small fish and I think the lack of clams on our beaches correlates directly to the lack of larger Bass running the surf zone.
