Salmon river report

Headed back up north last week/weekend with Some of the boys and a bunch of buddies from work and their kids. Main mission for me was to get all these kids a fish, I knew it would be hard but we were able to get the job done. Little masons fish was pretty special to me and that one fish alone made my whole trip worth going up there. We found one steelie for the few days we were up, a lot of fish up at altmar last couple days for anyone headed up that’s your best bet if your not worried about taking fish home. Getting the kids on the meat was awesome! Great job Mikey the guide! Short trip for me up there. Hooked a few Kings. Landed a few at the lower hole. We need another run of fresh fish that’s for sure. The mid and lower river is pretty dead! See what happens. I’ll be up at the end of the month. YEA BUDDY!!!:D

Hanging out at the campground, unwinding from the day in front a the fire and Mason comes running out the car “I just caught a 25 lb salmon!” Haha! That kid was pumped. Mikey put a lot a smiles on people’s faces this weekend. Huge thanks to all you guys for showing me around up there again!

Great job getting the young bloods hooked up Mikey! There's still a huge amount of fish staged at the mouth. Todays rain may do the trick and bring in a fresh run. As well some of the other tribs are going to see some fish from this runoff too.
My usual crew is up there now for the week. Unfortunately I was unable to go this year due to circumstances beyond my control but I may make a real suicide run up for the day on Fri.
