Had some much needed free time over the weekend so when all the stars aligned, I grabbed my gear. Hit the P with just lures and mulberries. Was pretty easy pickuns with the berries and was able to get my girl hooked on 3 carp before they got hype to our game. While she was wating for the bottomfeeders, I was able to find a decent little walleye while throwing some lures. Always a nice surprise when on the Passaic.
Next solo trip I headed out early and was able to rustle up a few pike on topwater and a couple more after switching to some spinners I rigged up. Only took pictures of two of them. 1st one is 34 1/2", and the 2nd went 38". Hell of a time and was def much needed!

I cant see any pics you posted. Good technique with the carp, you just use straight up mulberries? No chumming?

Not too sure, but i think you have to be logged in to NJF to see the pics. But yea, straight mulberries on the hook and no chumming...the overhanging mulberry trees chum the spot before arriving😁. Gotta get em' now though, while the berries are still on the trees.

I think that hack doesn't work anymore. Try using postimages.org

Now I see it.
Nice walleye, rare catch I see as it must have been an adventurous one that swam out of a stocked lake?

No, didn't nabb the waldo on any homemade lures. Got him while throwing a small vibrax into the current. I've caught smaller ones outta here before as well. And unless they've been successfully reproducing in the river, than he definitely came from a res up north. Like that last ghost carp i caught, this guy probably travelled a bit further and took more waterfalls/dams to get here.

Good looking pike and top water too. The only time I targeted pike this way was back in '83 in northern Minnesota and they were smashing a black hula popper in the middle of the afternoon, here is a picture of a 36"er, back in my youth.LOL
