I wonder what factor changes their behavior?

Congrats on the 1st 'eye. The Delaware River, in my limited observations, seems to be deeper than the RR on average. So maybe the sun doesn't affect walleyes as much in deeper water compared to shallow(er) depths. ?? Only thing I can think of off the top.

Thanx!! I love the backbone of the uglystik, this is my first casting setup. I’ve always used spinning, but I wish the trigger was a little higher on the handle. I just palm the reel anyway, it’s more comfortable for me Love my abu Garcia reel ! It’s a only a 6’6 also medium heavy.
