I had a few free hours yesterday afternoon so I decided to head out to one of the rivers. When I got where I wanted to fish the river was running real high and off color from all the rain. I decided to scout out some new water that I have been wanting to try. I took the 15 minute drive over to a smaller river and found a good spot to try. Water was off color but the flow was good. Started off with a Prince Nymph and landed my first bow on the 3rd drift. Switched over to an Woolly Bugger and landed a few more. Nothing of any size but the were nice healthy trout. I wanted to find a few more spots on the river but a nasty thunderstorm rolled in so I called it quits.

Sweet catches, those things are lovely :)

Those wild rainbows are neat to see, were they a surprise or expected in that WTS?

nice trout man! Don't you hate it when thunderstorms cut a fishing session short? That's the worst! glad you got some before that.

To be perfectly honest this river gets stocked and I wasn't expecting any wild trout. So I am not sure if these are wild or not but I am leaning towards stocked fish.
