Took a ride after work to Skunksville Tuesday hoping for an eye. Started poking around some spring spots that have produced for me in past years and connected with a fat healthy 23". I was psyched, that fish made my day! Single spots rarely produce multiple fish for me at Monks so once I catch, I leave in hopes the spot will reload for later. So I shoot the Mugger up the lake to fish a point I never tried. Typical Skunksville results there so now it's time to head back to the snag I got that 23" off. En route I pass a drop off and my electric fish liar is showing life. I stop and drop, BAM! Another 23"!Pass over the drop again, BAM! a 20"ish...Quickly CPR'd, drop back down BAM! A 22"!!! Shaking in disbelief a circle back around, drop down..jig, jig, jig...BAM! another 20"ish..haha...no, this can't be Monks!!!!! It's getting dark, make a couple more passes, jig, jig, jig WHAM!!!!! A 26"+ fat pig, huge head, big belly, angry face! Def the heaviest eye I ever caught, wish I had a scale. What a kicker fish. 6 healthy eyes in a couple hours on Monks!! Still in disbelief.
So of course I tell my buddy to blow off any plans, the bite is on and we have to go back the next day(yesterday). We caught shit!!! Nothing!, Not even a bite!!! I don't know what was going on at that place Tuesday evening, but I hope i get to experience it again. Here's the porn with photoshopped backgrounds from pics I grabbed off google image. Cant let that cat outta the bag. The last fish is the pig. All fish CPR'd.

Nice eyes, banging a lot out shortly is definitely a crazy good feeling, no matter what fish it is.

Actually this sort of thing happens sometimes with walleyes.

Over the years, i have seen days when they were as stupid as sunnies and could be caught one after the other.. go back next day, , day after that, day after that etc, and never get a touch, and you would swear there wasn't one in the entire lake/river... I wish it happened more often, but then there wouldn't be many walleyes anywhere.. You have to relish the times when it does happen, as in your great post, because it will may be a while before it happens again.. there's a reason a lot of guys have trouble catching them consistently.. They do what they want when they want... bob

I think for some reason you are not the only one who has been frustrated with the walleye at Skunksville, at least you had one good day.
