hit the water at 7am on saturday not expecting a whole lot but was greeted with cast and reel catching of crappie, perch, gills and even golden tarpon.the bite was great from 7am till 10am and slowed.was fishing the bobber & jig but also had allot on the small husky jerk.after the fishing slowed we ran home and took care of some chores.around 4pm we headed back to the lake and started catching the crappie pretty good again.the bite only lasted a hour so we headed to a new spot.i started with the husky jerk and started catching yellow perch.
i was going back and forth between the bobber & jig and the hj.both caught very well.as it started to get dark the crappie took over.fished til 8:15 and headed home.
ST PAt must have been with us sunday morning as we started at 6:45 and caught heavy till 9am.it was as silly as it gets with crappies coming on just about every cast.you had to soak the rod every 10 minutes to get the ice off the eyelets.the fishing was as good as it gets for this time of year.we only kept 8 nice{12-14 inch}crappies for the table. it time folks so get out there.
