New Year's Day D&R Report

Happy New Year everyone. Great posts by all you lately.
I got lucky today In the D&R by exit 10. Got this pickerel towards the back half of the lock. 1/8 oz blk/org/chartreuse jig head 2.5" swim jig. Hit on a slow retrieve after bouncing it around a bit. Only other action was one hit on same presentation. Also tried a small plastic grub on 1/8 jig with no results.

happy new year to you.those swim jigs are good right now the fish are a little sluggish now.. it was warmer today but the water is still cold. the slow presentation is the way to go. i fished somewhat shallow water today and i too threw small swim jigs, slow right above the weeds near the bottom did the trick.they even fought slow. tight lines.

Been seeing quite a few walleye pics from the good 'ol canal lately.
Beat the skunk while all the rivers are blown out, works for me !
