I had a couple days off this week so pops took off Monday for some lake therapy. He suggested Sunday we chase some Ski's so Monday morning we gave it a shot. On the water at 8:30 and started casting. About 5 hours, countless casts, and no hits or follows it happened......... Last crank or 2 of a cast this monster comes out of nowhere and savages my lure boatside but somehow missed the hook!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! :mad: Oh well, at least I got to see one, lol. About 10 mins and 25 feet of shoreline later I'm about halfway in with a cast and it just gets smashed. After an intense fight, we landed the beast. Didn't get a great measure but it was damn near 40" and thick!! After a couple quick pics she swam off strong with little revival needed. I'm still wondering if it's the same fish I missed the first time.......
Today I met up with my brother to try again at a different lake. First couple hours were slow, no hits no follows. Then I landed a cast next to a log and almost instantly it got whacked. Had a decent fight and landed a healthy 23/24" ski!! Definitely not as intense as the other but was a nice fish. I'm still shaking from the first one and shocked I got 2 fish in 2 trips, lol!!!!!!!
