Headed out with Chrisper in the tin can on Sunday morning to target muskies. The action was pretty good, and I caught my first tiger musky, a pure strain musky and had another pure strain hit on the figure 8 but didn't hook up. Since I had a lot of MBA homework and had a family gathering at my Aunt's at 430pm, I was on my way home by 1030am.

On the drive home, I started thinking about a goal that I've had for a while now. I had always wanted to complete a NJ Esox Slam, catching a musky, a tiger musky and a northern pike in the same day. I had all my gear in the car and had crossed the two hardest fish off the list, so I decided to put off my homework and go find a pike. I wasn't sure how my spots were going to look with all the rain, but it was worth a shot.
The river was looking okay, so I hit a spot that usually holds good numbers of relatively small fish. Not looking for size...just needed a pike. To my surprise, I worked the area over without a bite.
Headed to another spot that has been very productive lately, and fished it without a sniff. I couldn't believe it. I was running out of time, so I could only fish one more spot before I would have to call it a day.
Got to the last spot and had about 10 minutes to fish. Luckily, I caught a nice pike on my second cast to complete the slam!
