Hi all, I'm looking to take my boat up to Dingmans Ferry on the Big D. I've never been there before. Is the anything I need to keep an eye out for, boulders, trees, depths etc.? Gonna be cautious regardless. Just looking for some advice. Thanks!!

Not the deepest stretch of the river. Watch out for boulders and stuff and make sure you have waders in the truck for jumping in the river to launch the boat. Or water shoes or whatever. The waters still super warm. It looks like the rivers gona go way up this week. The current will be over 10,000 Cfs. Not good at all!!! Good luck if you make it out there.

What he said! Much easier for a 'newbie' to the area.

Dingman's is probably the toughest. You can't go downstream from the launch without a very small boat or a jet. If you go upstream in mid to lower water, there is a eel weir that stretches all the way across the river with one very small hole in it. Many props and lower units fall victim to it. I would wait until it's low to identify how to go through it before you try for the first time.
