Had the kids out today so played mate and “acted” captain. Made a few stops in back on the rock piles for porks with absolutely nothing doing.

Made a move between the channels and picked and plucked all the postage stamps you wanted. Boys put 3 in the box @ 19,18,18. All 3 on bird strips. Plain book rigs got the keeps, BT’s and teasers were bird magnets.

Worked back inside as afternoon breeze kicked up. Knoll was nursery of 12-14” fish. Boys got to fight a cow nose here for 10 min before it popped.

Worked Chapel, Borrow pits and lower West Bank. All same MO with shorts all over.

Last stop at 11A for a pork stop with a few rats on clams but again hooked another Ray. Fought for 5 min or so and popped again. Boys didn’t care. Loved the fight!!!

Surface temps 78 inside 73 out. Water clarity change lines real weird from chocolate milk to grey to greens to blue and back!!! Very defined lines as well

Ran across this carcass at WB. Sturgeon. No head. Body approx 5ft without head and girth was huge.

Nice to get out with the kids duff. Fishing is secondary on those days

Great report, Dan. The kids must have been going nuts fighting those rays.

Cool report, I wonder what caused the sturgeon's demise.

Thanks boys!!! And sorry shoulda been 7/19
Wondered as well what that sturgeon came up upon to die? Thought it was odd that the body was intact yet the head was cut off just behind the gills? Or did it die and whatever chewed away decide it was the head first way to go? Also suprised no birds on the carcass.

If I had to guess probably got caught in someone's gill net and had to cut the head off to slvage the net. Sad.
