Headed up to Lake O for a morning troll. Ended up catch some big kings and I also caught my first Atlantic salmon, which was released after a quick picture. Not a big fish, but definitely a special one! Some charters will see a few every year, but they are not a very common fish

Amazing fish, and a nice Atlantic surprise. I looked up online why they're rare, seems interesting, hope they come back in better numbers.

Nice pics JD! I was up in the Rochester area and went out yesterday from Point Breeze. Never fished Lake Ontario before. Capt. Dave took me out on a private charter. We landed 4 king salmon (biggest one was 12 lbs) and 1 steel head trout that weighed 13 lbs.

I always fish saltwater but I’m hooked now! OMG!

Guys: PM me for boat/charter info.

JD nice fish and some good size kings. When they are Silver in the lake they sure do pull. Love the Alantic but he is suppose to be heading up the river right now. How great would it be if they could get them to really rebound and start running the rivers in some numbers. One can only hope .
1st week of Sept I start my day trips to the Ribber.

OMG! I’m reeling in and I see these fleas all over the line! Captain was taking them off by hand so they didn’t get caught in the guides.

Again, my first time up there fishing Lake Ontario. One word: “Wow!”

The fleas can be a real PIA, equivalent to rock snot in rivers.
Funny thing is you get out 5 miles and you are in 600 feet of water !
Nice fish !
