Late June Smallies and Cats

Late report but I hit the shed last weekend, Saturday. Forcast called for possible storms but I was still SHOCKED when we got to the ramp and we're the only boat there!!! Luckily the storms held off and we found some action!! All Smallies 17-19 inches and all very energetic!!!! Surprised we couldn't luck into a walleye or 2?!?!

Monday night the wife was working late so I did a local river trip. Chucked lures for Pike till 8:30 and came up empty. Luckily I brought the livers!! Hooked a dozen or so mini mud cats until dark set in, then, a few channels!! Nothing huge, biggest went about 20", but a blast on 10# test.

Best part was the Swarm of bugs that wouldn't come within a foot of me due to a heavy coating of bug spray. Looked like a star wars scene in the pics, LOL........ Good times!!

What kind of repellent do you use? I'm not sure I have enough blood in my body to satisfy the huge seams on the river this year!

Thanks all! Andy, it actually seems like the average has gone down a little this year, but I ain't complaining! Still pretty good numbers.

Jdtuna, I'm using regular Cutter, and LOTS of it, lol. Seems to do the trick though.......
