Actually got out both nights this weekend, for the main street lake duo in neighboring towns.

Sat night my soon to be teen daughter joined me at Brainerd, we started in the park but the weeds along the bank were causing her troubles with a wacky rigged senko (she wanted to catch a bass) so we moved over to main street on the spill way side, where i caught 3 7-8" crappie on a trout magnet. I convinced her to switch to the other UL rod with a trout magnet and she landed a bluegill.

After 10 minutes of no more bites we moved to the other side where its a creek where i landed a dink bass on her rod with the senko, a couple of bait sized bluegills and a small crappie. There were a couple of turtles and a 18" + catfish swimming in the shallows that kept her entertained as she wasn't getting any bites and when she said she was ready to go as darkness was setting in, i suggested we stop back back where she caught the bluegill and try a few casts before calling it quits.

Was a great decision - over the next hours we each caught at least 10 crappie each ranging from 6-9", including a couple of double hookups, and a Break to take pictures of a Blue herron which landed on the Spillway and seemed to be eyeing our catches.

Sunday night was not as good at Peddie lake as I caught 1 dink bass along the greenway path across from the school before moving to main street, which got cut short by lightning moving in.

Good deal dude! It’s good to see some of the younger generation out there enjoying the outdoors. Great pics!:D

Both have bass and pickerel and ramps. Brainerds is in the back corner of village park and peddie lake is in the far end of the lot behind tavern on the lake on main street.
