On my continuous hunt for new water near my new place, I stumbled upon Grover Cleveland Park. Apparently it is stocked with bass each year for the town derby, and my oh my was that the case. The pond was 3 feet deep MAX, and probably 75% weeds. Extremely hard to throw traditional bass gear, or bobber setups for that matter. Nobody but me was catching anything. I worked the bank with my 4'6" Fenwick with a trout magnet tied on.
The water was clear and the bass were present in numbers. must've seen over 75 bass swimming all along the banks and into the weeds. Tons of sunfish too. I Caught 9 cookie cutter 12 inch bass and 2 bigger 15" ones. In addition, I caught 3 bluegill and the biggest pumpkinseed I've ever seen.
All in all, a relaxing outing at a new body of water.
