The Gambler has started striped bass fishing. We will be going every day, 7 days, 7AM till 2PM, unless the weather is poor. We will be looking for stripers mainly --but happy to run into the blues when they show up.
We are rigged and ready for any contingency to bring fish in the boat. Our first and favorite option is to cast lures, like rubber shads, AVAs and spoons. But the Gambler crew is geared up for bunker snagging or bait-clam fishing as well. Whatever it takes to get fish in the boat.
The Gambler ran South today, along the coast, but it didn't play out well. We read some baitfish but the predators were not in those schools yet.
I think a few more days of this warm weather might cause some bass or blues to get aggressive. We were south today. Will probably look north to the Shrewsbury rocks Hook tomorrow.
