was up the cong 6:30am saturday ready to go.hit the 1st spot and had great conditions with no wind so i figure i will start with the small husky jerk.it was a good move as i caught 8 nice crappie on my first 10 casts, so i stayed with it.a few casts latter i get rocked and the 4lb test is running of the reel.i say to myself"there goes anther one" thinking its a slimer thats going to cut the line.turns out to be a big large mouth and after a good fight i beach a nice 18
incher.get it off and get it back in the water quick and get back to casting.a few crappies later i get rocked again.this time i am sure the husky jerk is gone but again a nice lm.this one was 14" and full of fight, even jumped twice for me.get it released and start casting again.things slowed down so i picked up the other rod with the jig and bobber and started catching a mix of bluegills, white and yellow perch, golden tarpon and crappie.at 9:30 i called it and headed home with my limit of nice slabs and a smile that would not quit.
head back up around 4pm and it starts real slow, one here one there.all of the sudden like someone threw a switch the bite is back on.fished until the rains came and called it a night.got up sunday and was back at it at 6:30 again.was a hole lot different with some wind.took a little bit to find them but once we did it was game on.fished till 10am and headed home.only kept my limit saturday and all other fish were released.had a visit from the badger and we talked of how lucky we are to have such a great fishery and how we all have to do our share to keep it that way.so please,if you bring it with you please bring it out.
