Got a question for all you Hopatcong veterans. It’s my understanding that Dow’s is THE place to go on Hopatcong for both bait and reports on the fishing. Would love to stop in on my next trip out. Question though, where exactly is it? I know it’s on Nolan’s Point but the only time I’ve ever been over there all I saw was the Jefferson House where my GPS told me that Dow’s should be. Also, is there room anywhere to park my truck with boat in tow? Or could I just run over there on the boat and dock somewhere there? I launch at the state park so wouldn’t be a big deal. Thanks in advance for helping me learn my way around the lake.

Thanks,

Steve

Dow's is just to the right of the Jefferson House, pretty sure they share property lines. Launch from the state park, head NE a little more than halfway up the lake towards the Jefferson House. Easier to access it by boat than with your truck and boat in tow.

It's at the end of the road just past the Jefferson House. The thing is the top floor is private residence. Dows is down the stairs at the end of the parking lot so it is a little hard to see it. Parking towing a trailer could be difficult but docking a boat should be no problem...Charlie

Thanks guys for the input. Will probably try to get there by boat then. So coming in by boat it is to the right of Jefferson House correct? Any issues on where to dock?

Dow's is to the right of the J House coming by boat. They have lots of dock space so there won't be any issue finding an open spot. They just told me on Sunday they were hoping to have herring in the next day or two as well so they might be in.

as others have said it is easiest accessed from the water for your situation. you can tie up at the end of their docks

Hey Squatch he said by boat not parachute. Yes Dow's is the place on the lake for info. This message board has some of the best and most helpful sticks on the lake. Pay attention to details and hints. Crappies are hitting now on white twistertails. Good luck.
