Live about 45 minutes away from Spruce Run. Would like to fish it soon for hybrids and possibly largemouth
Does anyone know the water level?
Thanks

My parents live 5 minutes away, the water level has been high lately. This season it started to fill the area near where the creek runs into it, something i haven't seen in quite awhile.

Was there a few months ago and it looked like it was drying up, glad it has rebounded.

It's been at least three years in coming to where it is now. Usually when a lake draws down and allows new plant life along the shallows to breathe and grow on the exposed dirt and gravel, fish return and life flourishes. There should be more nourishment for the forage fish and more suitable cover for the fry as well as more adequate bass and panfish bedding areas. The creek mouths might be places to check out as the season progresses for a variety of fish including trout and the predators which enjoy eating "rainbow nuggets".
I expect the sales of shiners and herring to increase tenfold.

Here is a link to a daily water level report for RV and Spruce plus flow rates of the Raritan River system...at least some of it.
http://www.njwsa.org/raritan-operations-data.html
Click the Operations Reprot picture to see the PDF. 273 ft is full for Spruce.
Hope this helps.

This is the easiest gauge to check. 273.0 is full pool. Anything above that means the res is spilling, below that is, well, that much below dead full.

The water level looked as high as I have seen it. I tried last night for the first time in years where the creek comes in. There were hybrids/pike/crappie/largemouth/catfish all caught around magic hour.
