It's been a rough Spring so far with work and less than exceptional weather. Made it out twice to the local park pond recently to harass the stockies. Got em on spinners and plugs, nothing noteworthy. They do seem to be more colorful though.

Last week, I got my boat wet for the first time this year. Hit a brand new lake I scouted over the winter. Fished mid day and the temps were in the fifties, water was 43*. Picked up 2 larrys in a couple hours. Bigger of the 2 hit a spinnerbait and taped out to a hair under 19" and very well fed.

Today I did the shed thing and ended up with identical results, except for species. :D Got 2 smallies the biggest taping out to exactly 19" and and football fat. Temps were in the sixties and the water went from 48* to 52* over the course of the day. Beautiful day to be out, wish they were a little more cooperative. Can only get better with the warming trend the next few days........ 👍

Nice job, nothing wrong with quality over quantity especially with water temps. I'm surprised that you didn't get any pickerel. Even with the crazy weather it should be long for the water to get up there. We were out today and it was calm until about one and there were shallow areas of the lake hitting 63 before the wind started to blow.

Wicked bass. A good 19 incher- qualifies for skillful angler program which just got updated for online submissions :)

Thanks all! Forgot to mention, the smallie in the first pic is the second I've caught out of that lake that was poopin out line.... Lucky for this one a hook wasn't attached, or, at least not that I could see.....

Haha, yeah, I decided to try a little further north this year. First trip ended up with me getting called in off the water by law enforcement officers... Apparently the dumbass that sold me the permits failed to mention "no trailers". Who the hell sells "boat" permits but doesn't allow trailers?!?!?!

Anyway, the cop was cool, especially since I had all my permits and flashed a pba card. Still ran all my docs though which kinda pissed me off. Also the fact I spent $75 on permits I can't use. Still beats a free ride to the station!!!

Other than that I haven't been out much. Too much work and my days off have been horrible weather. Hopefully I'll have more to report in the coming weeks as I'm sure you will as well!! :D Keep slaying em out there!
