Has anyone fished here for trout ? Recently moved to Bridgewater did some scouting yesterday. Looks very shallow. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations ?

The stretch that runs through the park itself is pretty flat and shallow. There are some nice deep holes upstream and downstream. Try taking a walk downstream to the dam by the Route 202 bridge, that spot is usually loaded with trout.

Thanks a lot. Has anyone has any luck at the park in the past ?

Upstream by the railroad bridge or down stream by 202 like Lard said.

Actually have done pretty well by the railroad bridge on both bass and trout.
The area behind the 4H field is very shallow.

I took my son to the fair grounds late spring last year, landed a few stockies and he's been begging to go back ever since. We couldn't make it out Saturday so we went yesterday morning around 10:30. Long story short we were skunked. He got cold quickly so that lead to impatience. So we got lunch and headed upstream to the confluence with the Lamington. I got 1 'bow. He got nothing. Surprisingly he wasn't too bummed about that and said he was happy just to be on the water with me.

The North branch should be getting a heap load in the coming weeks. :)

I concur, it’s deep and looks promising but Only thing I ever caught at railroad bridge was a warning from a ranger for drinking a beer while I fished....
