2018 Opening Day in the Books

After arriving at my planned location and finding about 15 cars already parked and guys sitting in folding lawn chairs at the river bank I decided to head up river to look for another spot. I managed to find a nice stretch of river that I had all to myself from 8:00am to 1:00pm only about 1/2 mile from my planned spot. Couldn't believe it!!! Managed to land 14 stockie rainbows and lost another 7 (barbless hooks). All fish released so someone else can enjoy catching them.

Nice piece of water, let 'em go let 'em grow !!

River was high and cold. I have fished this stretch in the summer using hopper patterns on my fly rod and have had success. Lots of undercut banks.
