started out saturday morning at 11am.took a few minutes to get their attention
but once we did it was game on.we had crappie,yellow & white perch,shiners
and bluegills.i was real good fishing till we left at 5pm.small husky jerks and small
jigs & bobber worked well.kept 10 nice crappies for the table and all other fish were released.i am not really sure how many fish we had but it was allot.we made plans to go sunday morning and meet at 10am only to find that the entire cove had iced over.we were not going to stand for that and took the boat and broke up the ice.we had to wait 20 minutes till the water calmed and the ice was blown out but after that it was game on.it seemed like every cast you caught a perch.it was amazing.you would cast in one spot and they were all 8-10 inches,cast to another spot and they were all 12-13-1/2 inches.it was almost all perch with a few crappie and sunnies thrown in.we were laughing at one point at how easy it was to catch.we moved around the cove and everywhere we stopped there were yellow perch.kept some nice yellows for the table and released the rest.it was as good as it gets.the last 20 minutes my jig was getting hammered and i just could not hook them.i never really paid it much mind until i was loading the truck to go home.i take a look at the jig to make sure the grub was still good and notice the point of the hook broke off.well i guess the jokes on me!!!
