I hosted some of my buds up the lake on Saturday for a day on the ice with good eats, bon fire , lots of laughs and lots of flags. With the low pressure approaching the fish were on the feed and gave us a great day of chasing flags. Perfect conditions on the lake and we were treated to a bald eagle keeping an eye on our festivities and making a drop this morning to clean up some of the feed we left for her on the ice. Very Cool... I think she really wanted the crock of chili but that didn't last long... :eek:120531

You can fillet a pickerel and cut the rib cage out just like any other fish.
If caught in winter cold water and kept ice cold after cleaning they are pretty damn good. You can get a nice clean piece of fillet. No bones about it....:D
I cut just as if I was doing a blackfish or seabass.
