cranberry mixed bag

hit cranberry lake today to see if the fish wanted to play nice.the lake had 5" of ice and it looked solid. i was able to get 12 yellow perch ranging from 6 to 11",one white perch at 10",6 friggin slime darts:mad: 1 lmb at 14 and a half inches and 3 pumpkinseed sunnies. the fish were in 6 to 8 fow and were close to the bottom. i got them on both tip ups and on the jiggin rod. the ice was making the normal noise in the morning then was making a different noise later on. it sounded like sleet hitting a tin roof strange, but i love when the ice is making that growing noise:rolleyes:with colder temps at night lets hope we can get back what we lost with the warmer weather in the past couple of days.all in all a great day on the hardwater. i will be going back thursday with a friend to do some more fishing on his birthday. i hope the fish are still playing nice then:cool:

you can keep the slime darts. i don't like those bony, toothy,lure trashing,tasteless,eating machines... i don't mind a skunkin, if slime darts are the olny fish that would save me from a skunkin i would rather catch nada.. and as for getting first place with a friggin slime dart,let someone else get first place that is fine with me... i caught so many of those things as a kid growing up and lost so many lures that i had to buy with my hard earned money. as a kid money was hard to get and losing lures just pissed me off:mad: sorry folks slime darts get no love from the icebadger.

no eddie they are gamefish and some people enjoy catching them, i hope the darts that i let go provide someone with a thrill perhaps a kid catches them and they make his day. besides the birds deserve better than that anyway:rolleyes:

My brother lives on the lake and fishes it often during the summer and swears he finally caught one last year. I think he said it was about the same size as your average pickerel.
