in all seriousness though we spent about 30 minutes checking a small area we were going to fish with a life vest, spikes, spud bar, and roped off to a guy on shore and now that it's been warm it's all going to hell so don't go ice fishing now and die and blame it on me!

Hahahahah !!!! That's all life jacket picks spikes rope! It's really not that bad if you constantly spud your way around and consistently checking it as you go and learn to read the ice and watch how it forms!!!! Myself and the crew see way too many people assume the ice is safe and come out and walk all over the place just cause your out there. Most of the time we straight up tell them stay away from there ...don't walk there..... Be safe guys

Way to kick off the season chrispy!!!!!

I see rain for Saturday but not the deluge that destroyed the ice last year! I say some ice survives but then again I have more than a few screws loose!!! Bwahahahahahaha!!!!

i had some guy start walking up to me saturday. i go, hey man the ice is only 2 inches. He goes, oh doesn't matter it's only 3 feet deep here...i go, uh no i'm using a sounder and it's 10' deep. he keeps walking to me and wants to say hi with a hand shake. damn guy wouldn't listen to me, i almost had to run away from him! i could see the ice bowing. had to straight up tell him to get the hell away from me, the ice can't support two people standing together.

With how variable ice seems to be for NJ lately, small fish seem to be worth the trip.

Nice fish.

Was not a fan of the noises it was making under my feet. At 6'5" 240 I am just a wee bit bigger than chrisper.

That being said it was nice to finally use the ice flasher and the inline reel I bought last season and never got to use.

My fish of the day.
