Hi guys.
We have until Friday Dec 1 to submit comments on the new trout regulations. Please send comments that you DO NOT support the new gear restrictions (barbless/3 hook points per lure). The proposed regulations are not based on science, conservation or whats best for the trout populations. A review of the science concluded that there was no difference in hooking mortality between single and treble, and barbed vs barblesd hooks. These regulations are based on the requests from a particular group. We all pay the same amount for our trout stamp and should have equal fishing access. Regulations need to be based on science and conservation benefits...not the misinformed opinions of one group. This is a slippery slope! Link for comments below:

I can't emphasize this enough...even if you don't trout fish ever, take my advice and do not let them set these regulations! The thoughts of what are to come next, if they're allowed to do this unopposed are even more disturbing than these regulations.
The actual regulation is not even the point, the point is that the regulations are NOT based on scientific findings (and are actually opposite of what they found). Instead they are based on the opinions of a small group of people that apparently think they have different rights than the rest of us holding the same fishing license and stamp.

Just got forwarded this FB post!
How does TU know that their members have done a poor job expressing support for the proposed regulations?? This thing stinks worse and worse.
Don't let our fishing regulations be created by a few politically connected individuals. Any rule changes need to be based on science and what is best for conservation. Get your comments in!!!

Good call, made an account just to post this. In your comments, call them out on their past research. They did a study themselves on how barbless and single hooks dont really do much to the mortality rate. Keep messaging and letting them know, who ever tried to propose this, should at least have the decency to ask the people who have studied the proposed topic before.
