Hit the river at 11 pm last nite. 1st spot--nada after 45 mins. Went into run, gun and drive mode. Bounced the canal and plucked an 18" eye. Back on the road to the next area of choice. Started in the canal. Plucked a couple of cutie pies on soft plastics. Prob 12 and 14".
Made my way upstream hitting openings where I could when my keitech was annihilated by a TOAD. After a good tussle I clicked my head lamp on to reveal a nice fall beast walleye. Bit of a task landing her but made due. Quick pics and revived her until she threw water in my face...and it was cold last nite. Watched her eyes fade into the depths and took a breather. Checked my leader and retied for good measure. Moved on a caught prob one of the smallest walleye I've ever hooked. Thing was less than 10" lol.
Moved on and made my way towards the main river. Still throwing keitechs wasn't expecting much until my bait was inhaled a few feet from shore. Line singing off the reel I was pretty certain on what bit... striper! Nice lil 21" fish. Pic release and kept casting. About 10 min later I got whacked again. Felt a bit better this time. Line singing from my reel I eventually landed a 24" striper in short order.
It was now 230 am and I had enough. Plus I had to be up at 645 am for work. It was a good nite out. Pics below.
