We finally got in our first Bluefin trip of the season on Tuesday. On board we had (2) Joe's, Kevin, John, Peter Z and NJ Fishing' s Eric (In Pursuit). We cleared the Inlet at 3:30AM into a calm ocean and headed south to the Tuna grounds. By the time we started to fish the weather took a turn for the worse and we spent the day drifting in a snappy ESE wind and a rough ocean. We were the only boat out today so it took a few hours for Paul to locate the bait. We settled into an area that appeared to be a target rich environment and the crew went to work. Although they got knocked around for most of the day they all toughed it out and went 6 for 10 on nice Bluefin. Pete Z put the Under fish (43") in the boat and went 3 for 4 followed by Eric's 2 for 4 and Joe's one fish (44") which was released. John fought a Brown Shark that took a Pink Spanko but lost it at boatside. Today's fish were caught on Pink & Glo Spankos, Hammered Chrome Diamond Jigs and Silver Stingos. A good day with a great crew on a less then perfect weather day. Check the Open Boat Forum for our next scheduled Open Boat sailing's.

Thanks For a great trip Paul and Tony, even though we took a bit of a beating it was worth it.

Thanks to all you guy's. It's a big lonely place when you're the only boat out there. The upside is when you find them they are all yours. LOL
