Default Ya gotta love SILLY fishing

I can't tell you how many days of silly salt water fishing I have had from the kayak, but late this afternoon, I had my first silly freshwater pike kayak fishing EVER !!

Like I said, I have had many 50+ striped bass and bluefish saltwater days, but to have "silly" pike fishing.....is unheard of.

I hit an area this afternoon at about 5:30 until 8PM, and I can't even say how many pike I got. I have not fished this area in about 4 years and I guess no one else has either. I don't think I went 5 casts witout a fish or a strike and there were many times when there were pike fighting for the spinner bait. I was actually laughing with every fish, it was so easy.

The down part was is that I had to drag my kayak about 200 yards through the woods to get to this area and I never even got to the deep area that I wanted to fish.

You really have to love low, weedy, slow, summer time piking!!

Good stuff Dan, I tried a new spot on my Kayak yesterday 7/10/12 and only picked up one pike and a bass. I can't complain though cause I had some real good days last week.
