Default Steady pick of Bass this AM to 40lbs

Left the dock super early this morning because we knew it was gonna be a circus out there today. Had Michael82929 on the boat along with my cousin and my father..We took the long drive in the dark to go to where the stripes have been. We were one of the first boats on site and it was still dark. Bunker balled up tight for what seemed like ever! Two fish on as soon as we get there. Then within what seemed like 5 or 10 mins there was prob 70 boats around...kinda looked like when ants swarm a melted ice pop on the ground...Thats the weekend though..Continued to work the school. I found that working the east side of the school seemed to produce more fish early, then the middle seemed to produce better later..Ended up boating 14 bass to 40lbs...not bad for a sunday with all the traffic...kept six for the table and the BBQ we had today and released the rest. Great day on the water with the boys!

Nice job , def been a weird year, seems when the bass want to chew even crazy boat traffic isnt shutting them down . yet on days a good bite is expected its just been a pick.

nice job on the releases

Great time yesterday Kev.. Good seeing you Rich ( I know you're reading

Great observation Dan - thinking the same thing.. I mean there were times - head boats or some ding dongs running half speed up into the school - would push the bait so hard that the sound of rushing bunker balling 8 inches on top of one another was such a site..

For all the mayhem - we only had one incident where one idiot ran full speed up into the school with 20 people yelling at him - to have this look on his face like "WHAT???"

Glad the bite stayed on with all the boat traffic - was like that too on Friday

And oh yea... I dont know if you would call that a pick - we only fished for 3hrs.

Perhaps "too many" bunker, so well fed. Couldn't have imagined saying that past years.

Me and Kevin were saying the exact same thing yesterday

Past years - knowing there wasnt as much bunker than this year, perhaps - the fish has to fight harder to fill there bellies - thus the bites being crazier then this year..

I mean - we have had some kicker visual topwater scenes - and you would think it would be a bass blitz - but you werent hooking like you think you would. I mean you get your fish - but not like you would have thought...

Its almost like the bunker to bass ratio tide has swung and not to the favor of the fisherman.. with more bait - and less likelihood of your bait getting smashed becuase their are more millions to choose from.. - your bait cant stand out as easy

I agree guys...bite has been weird...i never thought i would say this but those bunker boats may have helped us in those bites the last couple of years....all i know is there is more bait then i have ever seen in years...i know some guys who fish offshore and have said the schools of bunker are still insane in some places out there even 15 miles off...they have even seen marks under them...im sure some r bass...i just think these fish have more of a choice in bait then they ever had before
