we left the dock at 6am this morning with the john santillo party, also on board was mike, neill, gino, tony and joe all from staten island. we made our first drop with no action at all spotted working birds and joined several other boats picking away at blue fish. the rest of the trip was a couple of fish here and there, total of blues for this trip was thirteen along with 4 bass 3 shorts and 1 keeper at 35 inches landed by neill. After the early morning wind layed down the rest of the day with the weather was great. A good time was had by a very fine bunch of anglers, capt Joe.

Good job Capt Joe and Jeff finding those fish. That is one very nice Striper.
Those Blues are loads of fun when they hit. ![]()

The morning started out a little rough with the wind but after about an hour or 2 the wind died down and it was just beautiful out there! Sun was shinning and wind was very light..
We started out where we left the bass biting the night before to only find a slow pick of blue fish.. So we made a few moves. Saw a massive flock of birds working and headed right for them. I tied on jigs for everyone real quick and we started to beat up the blue fish real good.. We followed the birds for a little while but still only blue fish. So we made another move to an area that has produced for us in the past.. Was not long before Mike hooked up with a real nice Bass.. Just short of 28 so back it went back.. The guys picked up 3 more shorts all right about 27 inches.. so close yet so far.. So after throwing back 4 short bass Neil gets a monster hit and the fish starts to peel drag like it was an in shore tuna.. Neil worked hard and got the fish to boat and my eyes went as i see a real nice sized bass on the line.. Around 35 plus inches and around 20 pounds! Great fishIt was a fun day with some great anglers! Capt Joe And I hope to see you again!
