NETKEEPER - Sunday 11/22 - Open Boat Blackfish Limits (combo Striped Bass & Blues)

Hosted Hollywood Mike (fishpro28) & friend Ben, Steve (catdozer8), Jose and Elvis on the NetKeeper for our first Open Boat Blackfish Trip of the season. On the way south to the grounds, found the birds again in the same places we left them Saturday morning so we stopped for a quick diversion to jig and release half a dozen short bass. The guys caught as many blues as they wanted for the box before moving on to Tog.

Slow morning bite but the fish chewed for us in the afternoon and the guys patience paid off. Congrats to Steve with his 10# and Mike with withi his Personal Best at 9#. They also caught their limit plus which included multiple fish between 6# - 10#. Finished the day with 22 keepers, 2 shy of a four man limit in sporty conditions. White leggers on Mustad 4011e size 4 hooks were the ticket.

Great bunch of guys and kudos to my mate Jessie for keeping the guys baited, rigged and in the water all day.

This is the report I was waiting for. I have a photo with the 7lber I didn't have one for the 9lber. Thanks Alan and Jessie for a great trip. Those were the biggest, badest tog I have ever caught. I wish I would have landed the big one that I lost....but that seems like par for the course for me...lol. Looking foward to thursday.

I am pissed and envious - wanted to try Black-fishing this year but still on the DL and side-lines until the Spring and will be an arm-chair fisherman for now
