NETKEEPER - Sunday 11/8 Open Boat Report - Stripers to 18#, Tog to 8# & Gator Blues

[Netkeeper Sportfishing]

Hosted James D and Robert J on Sunday's NetKeeper Open Boat Trip. Started at Romer and worked our way south from there. We Clammed and Trolled 5 Keeper Bass up to 18lbs (on the rapala). James D got the 18lb bass while clearing a trolling line while we were fighting a fish on the other. Many short bass and countless gator blues were all released making for some very sore arms.

Made a late (wish I had done so earlier) decision to kick off our togging season and ran to the Sandy Hook Reef where took our limit and released a mixture of keepers and toy tog and keeping our 1 fish per man limit. The tog were hitting very aggressively. Robert J put the first keeper in the boat and my mate Dom landed his personal best at 8lbs/22in all on green crabs. Great day on the water with a great bunch of guys. T-shirts in November, gotta love it.

Fall fishing at its finest. Don't wait to get in on it.

Here was an odd site, this Staten Island Ferry was being towed somewhere. We saw it out at the reef. Anyone know where it was headed???

Nice job Alan, can't wait to get back ou there also. I have been sick for like 3 weeks and no fishing since we last went out. It's killing me. Deffinately want to get some tog and bass....can't wait!
