NETKEEPER - Sunday Night 10/11 Striper Bassh

[Netkeeper Sportfishing]

Sailed with Jessie and Matt for some night Striper fishing Action. Left the dock an hour before sunset to find our first signs of fall bass under birds outside the hook. Between the wind and current we were drifting 4 knots and it was hard to toss jigs and stay on marks so we moved on. Watched some guys trolling tubes and pick some bass.

As it got dark we went to Worms & Eels. By nights end we tallied 45 schoolie stripers, all shorts mainly in the 20 to 24 inch range with some very small ones mixed in. Jessie was high hook with over 20 fish and also had biggest and smallest fish honors. The smallest fish was also the smallest ever caught on the NetKeeper, measuring a whopping 13 1/2 fork tail length. Ain't he cute.... Worms outfished eels.

Seven Fish were released with American Littoral Society (ALS) tags, would have tagged more but I ran out. We had Double headers almost every drift and an occaisional triple header. A lot of action and a great time was had by all.

The night exceeded expectations given the conditions did not match the forecast. Wind was gusting at times over 20 and the conditions were snotty. Thanks NOAA
