Lower South Branch 4/17/19:
Stopped by the main stem this morning, pretty muddy yet and flowing over 1000 CFS. Moved up onto the South branch where the water was clearer, not a trout to be seen. Saw quite a few people fishing, amazed at how many people bait and wait a river. Saw quite a few comorants. Glad I keep a NJ Fishing Digest in the truck, I had to look up what streams were closed today, that would be the North branch. Had a blast fishing this river in the winter, spring time, meh. Maybe I should fix up the boat for those "plan B" days. I'll try again Friday before work, the forecast looks gruesome:
Friday Night.... Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
