Default Gulp Crabs

Has anyone used these in NJ waters with any success for any species? I find crabs in fluke stomachs but never seem to catch any when I try the crabs on the line.

Love Gulp, but this one surprises me

Have caught fluke in the bay using them as well. New Penny color seems to work best for me.

Try using a floating jig head type rig, to get them swimming just above the growth and bottom.

If your in the river and know what your depth is, try the following, no matter how bad it sounds.... If your in 7' of water, place a float/bobber with a 6-6.5' leader on it. Float the crab just above the bottom and see what happens. I would have never thought I would catch fluke on a bobber, but I cant argue with the old salts and how they do it. I see guys doing this here in Barnegat Bay often with great results. I think it may give the crab a more natural look.

drifting a bait that way adds alot of life to it as it is always dancing on the waves. we used to fish a slip bobber that way with big killies along the jetties up north, was deadly
