Default Trout Stream

I want to start by saying I am a novice at stream fishing for Trout and I'd normally be at the D catching Shad by now but the weather hasn't cooperated. I have a day off from work and baseball practice and rather then soaking the play dough I wanted to hit a steam for a few hours. Can anybody recommend a basic spot. Just looking to cast some spinners. Anything would be helpful. I don't mind traveling. Thanks

Well where the hell are you located BROSKI? I know but don't remember! Rainbows went crazy for plugs on Pohatcong creek once the sun came out Saturday.

Gotta dig into the F&G website and see what is closest to you. Depends on how far you want to drive.

Bwahahahahahaha! Spotburn! Head to the Ramapo or head to the Wanque above Monksville res! Real pretty area with some primo fishing! I'm dying for some Shad myself but that river was a flooded beast over the weekend and still a bit high! Good luck and let us know how you do!

Everyone is very right- I found the pequannock and wanaque were both throwable for spoons and jigs Sunday- just had to drive a little further up. Closer to sources you'll have less runoff and chocolate yahoo milk
