Default How to fish in extreme conditions

After meeting up at Hopatcong during the fall we have been trying to get together and do a little trout fishing so last week we planned to fish sat. Bitter temps and non stop howling wind did not deter us from the mission at hand! Put some lakers in the boat! Our original game plan didnt work out because when we arrived at the first lake 1/2 of the ramp was froze in so they closed the ramp for the day! We opted to hit the other lake since it was fairly close and we were determined to catch some fish, so later start then we would have liked but it may have paid off for us in the log run. We fished for quite sometime before we finally put one in the boat but glad we broke the skunk! Today seemed like the fish got active after lunch which by then most people would have left cause of the cold and wind but we stayed having the confidence that we would catch more and sure enough we did! Ended the day with one shy of a limit as we picked another one and then finished the day on a three banger of which the last fish had to be hand lined in since the lines tangled! What the hell we were kinda ice fishin anyway! Had a great time and learned a lot but never could figure out why my partner had this big grin on his face all day!!!!!!
